Artwork of the Month: Mandala (2017)

Each month, one piece from the collection gets the spotlight. For October, it's Mandala — a 40×40 inch work built up from acrylic paint, clay, mirrors, and oil pastels.

The mandala is one of the oldest forms in Indian folk art: a circle that stands for wholeness, made meditatively, one detail at a time. This piece layers raised clay ornament and mirror inlay over rich golds and deep blues, so it catches the light differently from every angle.
